ONS 35th Annual Congress in San Diego, CA

General Abstract Information

The Congress 2010 planning team wants to hear from you! Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to submit your abstract now for the ONS 35th Annual Congress, May 13-16, 2010, in San Diego, CA.

Abstract presentations are focused in areas of administration/leadership development, clinical/evidence-based practice, education, and research study. Authors may choose their preferred presentation format podium or poster presentation or both) for their abstract. Selection of abstracts will be based solely on a blind peer review. Abstracts may be selected for presentation for podium sessions, poster presentations, and published in online Oncology Nursing Forum and located on the conference website.

Primary authors many submit more than one abstract but only one may be accepted for each presentation format.

Abstract Presentation Formats

Podium Abstracts
Abstracts accepted for podium presentations are offered in a session with 3-4 other abstracts and grouped by related category to be delivered for presentation. Speakers generally have 15 minutes to present their abstract and should include time for questions and answers. Only one author (primary or first author) may present the podium session.

Poster Abstracts
Abstracts accepted for poster presentations offer a display presenta¬tion of abstracts consisting of the process and outcome of a scientific or professional project. Posters are group by category and displayed during the majority of Congress. Authors of accepted poster abstracts must be present at their poster during the assigned session at the conference to allow for dialog with participants.

Moderated Poster Abstracts
Abstracts accepted for moderated posters are presenta¬tions of a completed poster to a small group of attendees who will review, listen to a brief (five to eight minutes) presentation of information, and then participate in a facilitated question-and-answer portion of the session. Five to six posters will be presented in each session, which will last for approximately 60 minutes. Posters may or may not be grouped based on topic (e.g., prostate cancer), area (e.g., clinical practice), or method (e.g., survey). A moderator will provide an introduction and facilitate questions. Moderated Posters are selected by the planning team and submitters are invited to participate. If unable to take part in a moderated poster session, the poster can/will still be presented at Congress; however, the submitter will be expected to take part in one of the regularly scheduled poster sessions.

All accepted abstracts are available through the ONS website.
