Target Audience

The online OCN^® Review Course modules are targeted to oncology nurses who are eligible to take the OCN^® exam, new oncology nurses seeking a general overview of oncology content, and oncology nurses seeking a general review course and continuing education credits for ONC-PRO.

Goal

The online course modules are designed to provide oncology nurses with an additional resource to prepare for the OCN^® examination.

The Online OCN^® Review Course is an informative course providing the quality instruction you expect from ONS in a new, convenient format. Working along with the text, students will engage in self-paced reading assignments, activities, and learning opportunities.

This is a self-paced course. The course is open for a specific twelve-week period and is open several times a year. You may access the course at any time during the specific twelve-week period that your class is active.

This course provides an in-depth review of the eight major subject areas found in the Oncology Nursing Certification Test Bulletin. This course has eight learning modules based on the eight major subject areas in the Oncology Nursing Certification Test Bulletin.

There are many informative and enjoyable activities within the course, including assignments, online activities, and self-tests. The recorded audio sessions as well as the course slides from the OCN^® Review Course presented at the 2005 ONS Congress are available throughout the course.

The optional Test Your Knowledge assessment will challenge you to complete 60 self-test questions in 60 minutes. The 60 questions are randomly selected from the eight modules.

This course is intended to accompany the publication Core Curriculum for Oncology Nursing (4th ed.) published by Elsevier, 2005.

For students to receive the continuing nursing education credits for each module, the following requirements must be met:

• Completion of the course activities (assignments, online activities, self-tests) for the learning module(s)
• Completion of the post-test with a score of 80% or better for the learning module(s)
• Completion of the course evaluation for the learning module(s)

Online students will receive continuing education credits upon the successful completion of the module(s). No partial credit will be given.
