Clinical Trials: Opening the Door for the Underserved A Webcast From the Oncology Nursing Society
What is a Webcast?
Webcasts are interactive, live events broadcast via the Internet. Webcasts
combine audio, synchronized slides, polling, and question and answer sessions
to provide a complete multimedia communications experience.
Participants watch a PowerPoint presentation on the web while listening
to the presenter speak via their computer speakers or telephone and have
the ability to ask questions, respond to polls, and provide feedback about
the presentation.
ONS offers two easy ways to listen to a webcast while watching the slides
on the web. Participants can choose to listen to the event using their
computer speakers, or by calling in to a special conference call number
and providing a pass code to access the event. The events begin automatically
for both types of participants, and there is no difference in the viewer
experience.
When registering, participants should consider the computer system on
which they will be viewing the event. Participants who choose the computer-only
option must have a system equipped with speakers, and participants opting
to listen via the telephone must have both computer and telephone connections
available.

To view a webcast, participants must have
Windows Media Player installed on their computer. Windows Media Player
is available for free download by clicking the logo on the left. |
For other helpful tips and system checks to ensure that your computer
is ready for webcasting, visit the Webcast
Group website.
After a webcast event has occurred, the event will be archived for viewers
who were unable to attend the live event. The archive will be available
on this website for 6 months after the event release date.
