The goal of this online course is to help the participant to understand, identify, and code appropriately for drugs and their administration rendered in a physician office or outpatient facility.

Objectives:

At the completion of the course, the participant will be able to

• Define Medicare as the basic model for insurance coverage.
• Discuss the differences between Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D.
• Discuss the differences in reimbursement and coding for chemotherapy and nonchemotherapy drugs.
• Define drug administration techniques and how to code them appropriately.
• Discuss the utilization of patient assistance programs for patients who are underinsured or without insurance.
