Welcome!

Welcome to the Oncology Nursing Society’s Oncology Nursing Fingerprint Resource Tool. This site was developed to provide you, the newer oncology nurse, with all of the tools and resources that you need to successfully care for your patients with cancer.

The links to the left will get you started in developing the knowledge necessary to find information and resources relevant to your practice.

The following icons are used to help you quickly find the resources you need.

The ONS Special Interest Groups (SIG) are segments of the ONS membership that focus on specific topics. From Acute & Critical Care to Transcultural Nursing Issues, the ONS SIGs provide members with resources including newsletters, networking events, interest specific projects, and virtual communities. More information about the ONS SIGs can be found at http://sig.vc.ons.org.

Articles are a great resource for information dissemination and best practice sharing. Articles within this resource tool are mostly from the ONS Connect, the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing, and the Oncology Nursing Forum. You can search for articles by visiting http://www.ons.org/publications.

Continuing Nursing Education is offered by ONS in many different formats to meet the needs of the different learning styles of nurses. Methods of learning include CD-ROMs, Live Programs, Print-Based Materials, ONS Podcasts, Teleconferences, Webcasts, and Online Courses. To see all of the learning opportunities ONS has to offer, visit http://www.ons.org/cneCentral/.

The ONS Publishing Division is a full-service publisher of award-winning books, monographs, and other publications for the cancer-care community. To read book excerpts or to shop for books, visit http://www.ons.org/publications/books/.

The internet is a vast resource for information sharing. However, not all information found on the internet is accurate. You can be assured that information provided by ONS is accurate and is available to ensure that you have the resources you need to provide the best care possible. The best place to always start is at http://www.ons.org.
