This course offers the basics of oncology economics and its impact on
nurses and families. It discusses how to code, basics of budgets, and
what healthcare economics really means. $49 for members; $69 for nonmembers.

Handling of Hazardous Drugs
This three-week faculty-led course offers everything you ever wanted to
know about being safe around hazardous drugs (of which most oncology medications
are). Sessions in July and November currently are available. You must
register for classes because class size is limited. $99 for members; $139

Learn the basics of healthcare advocacy, including how a bill becomes
a law, how this affects healthcare, and how to become get involved. $5

Make Your Plans to Attend the ONS Nurse
Practitioner Conference in November
ONS has established its National Conference for Nurse Practitioners
to meet the unique educational needs of nurse practitioners and clinical
nurse specialists who have prescriptive privileges. The conference will
be held November 4–6, 2004, in Nashville, TN, in conjunction with
the ONS Fifth Annual Institutes of Learning. More information will be
available in July. This is an excellent opportunity for nurse practitioner
(master’s level) students.
