How To Use This Area

The citations of the review articles are presented as clinical topics that are consistent with key terms found in bibliographic databases, such as PubMed and CINAHL.

• Once you have located a topic area of interest, you will find a list of citations from the professional literature in the past 5 years. (These lists will be continually updated).
• When possible a link is provided to the Abstract of each integrated review article. This can be viewed by clicking on "Abstract". The abstract is from the PubMed bibliographic database that is available from the National Library of Medicine at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed.
• ONS members may access the full text of reviews published in Oncology Nursing Forum and Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing by entering their ONS membership number at the link provided. This access page is reached by clicking on "ONS Member Access."
• You can print the list of citations and request them from the library that supports your clinical setting.
• The articles identified represent the various levels of evidence. Some may be stronger than others in providing evidence for practice. It is recommended that you critique the articles of interest to determine the type and strength of the evidence before making changes in your clinical practice setting.

Note: in the Examples of Critiques from the 2002 APN Retreat, practice recommendations could be made from only some of the review articles based on the quality of the review. Other review articles had numerous limitations so no practice recommendations could be made.
