IntroductionThere are many Evidence Based Practice sites and resources available on the internet where one can locate information on the topic as well as find examples of EBP. Most of the sites are from countries where there is a single-payor health care system in place and refer to general healthcare issues rather than specifically nursing. The resources provided on this site are very good examples of internet based EBP resources determined by the ONS EBP Resource Center Project Team. These sites all have Search capabilities within them and extensive annotated links/lists of other resources. Many health science libraries are accessible via the internet. These libraries can be found within universities or large hospitals. Most sites are themselves further linked to other sites. Please be sure when using an internet based resource that the information is current by checking how frequently the site is updated and by whom. Online information can change at any time. There are also many sources within printed media (books, journal articles, etc) available on the topic of EBP. Medical libraries and librarians can be invaluable when searching for information. There are many other databases that perhaps are not healthcare or health problem focused and could be very useful to your research. |
